Generate Posts and Terms

Descripción

This is a simple and clean plugin for generating new posts, categories and tags for your site.

Adding posts and terms for custom post types and custom taxonomies is possible too.

In the plugin there is an Admin Panel that will allow you to configure how many posts and with witch categories and tags to use.

You can choose to insert featured images for the posts. If you select to generate 10 posts, the first 10 images from the Media Library will be used as featured images.

Generating terms is very easy: just insert the number of new terms and select the taxonomy you want.

Instalación

  1. Unzip
  2. Upload “generate-posts-and-terms” folder to the “/wp-content/plugins/” directory
  3. Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress
  4. To change the settings, go to Dashboard -> Plugins -> Generate Posts and Terms.
  5. That’s it!

Generates example posts with *good* example content, eg. many different types of elements like headings, all kinds of lists, blockquotes, tables (!), and various image formats. Generates tags too. But I didn't find a way to 'marry' the example posts with these tags. I needed to add the tags from the post editor for each individually. So this would be a wished feature: To make it possible to connect the posts with a variable and determinable ammount of tags. But for moment being, already a very nice plugin for developing a WP theme with respect to post content, thanks!

Hey, This does seem to break databases from my testing. I reported this, but the author doesn't seem too concerned. Never did he work with me in an attempt to diagnose the cause. He just got defensive. But speaking of diagnoses, it was nice of him to wish me a cancerous death. Fingers crossed! 🙂 To be fair, the plugin did work for me on a clean local testing install. However, it did also break the DB of a site that had been running for several years 2/2 times attempted. So, for local testing it has been useful. And the DB has been repaired (twice) from recent backups, so that's all good. Compared to similar plugins however, this plugin lacks reliability and severely lacks performance. On a positive note, it does have a nice UI, with plenty of options. Probably the best set of options I've seen from a plugin like this. I was going to give this 5 stars, then it broke my site twice, so I opted for three. Then I received a really positive email, so one star. Thank you for the wonderful experience Alexandru Vornicescu. I hope you don't die of cancer.
