Enter a shortcode name, choose whether to remove the complete shortcode or preserve its inner content, and let the plugin process content in small AJAX batches. The plugin can also scan for shortcode tags that are not currently registered. Scan results are presented for review, and nothing changes until specific items are selected. WordPress revisions provide recovery points where supported. #### Features * Clean a specific shortcode by entering its tag name. * Keep enclosed text or remove the complete shortcode and its inner content. * Scan editable content for shortcode tags that are no longer registered. * Review and select affected content before bulk cleanup. * Process targeted cleanup and scans in small AJAX batches. * Keep original post modified dates when cleaning, enabled by default. * Use WordPress capabilities, nonces, sanitization, escaping, and revision-compatible updates. ## Instalación 1. Upload the `codeunwrap-shortcode-cleanup` directory to `/wp-content/plugins/`. 2. Activate CodeUnwrap – Shortcode Cleanup through the Plugins screen. 3. Open Tools > CodeUnwrap – Shortcode Cleanup. 4. Before removing or replacing any shortcode content, take a complete database backup and confirm that it can be restored. 5. Enter a shortcode name for targeted cleanup, or scan for unregistered shortcodes. ## Preguntas frecuentes ### Does scanning change content? No. Scanning is read-only and the results expire automatically after 30 minutes. ### Can I keep the text inside an enclosing shortcode? Yes. Choose “Remove shortcode wrapper and keep inner text” before starting targeted cleanup. ### Will cleanup time out on a large site? Targeted cleanup processes content in small sequential AJAX batches to avoid normal page-request timeouts. ### Can cleaned content be recovered? WordPress creates a revision during the update when revisions are enabled for that content type. ### Will cleanup change the post modified date? By default, no. The “Keep the original modified date” option is selected for targeted and bulk cleanup.
